Good MMA gloves

Bought MMA Sparring Gloves. They fit well and seemed durable enough. Delivery took about a week to get to my place. No issues with the order.

Always reliable for gear

I've ordered from Playwell a few times now, mainly for BJJ Jiu Jitsu Gi and some smaller items like Hand Wraps. This last order was for a new Gi, and it was consistent with my previous experiences. The quality is always good for the price, and shipping is pretty standard. Never had a problem with anything, which is why I keep coming back when I need new training equipment.

Love my new Katana!

Just received my Katana Practice Sword and it's fantastic! The quality is surprisingly good for the price, really impressed with the craftsmanship. It feels sturdy and well-balanced for practice. I definitely made the right choice buying from here. I will absolutely shop again for more gear, maybe some Nunchaku next. You guys are great!

Ordered a Bo Staff

I ordered a Bo Staff from Playwell last week. It got here in about 5 days, which was okay. The staff itself is pretty solid, feels good in my hands. I've been using it for practice and it seems like it'll hold up. The whole process was pretty straightforward, no big fuss or anything. Just needed a new staff and they had one that worked out. Easy enough.

Fair price for new uniform

This was my first time buying from Playwell. I needed a new Taekwondo Uniform and was looking around for a good deal. Their price was decent, especially since I found a student starter kit offer that saved me a bit of money. The uniform arrived in about 6 days, which was fine. It came with a white belt, which was convenient. Overall, I felt like I got good value for what I paid. It was a solid purchase and didn't break the bank for a first uniform.

My Playwell promo code isn't working for a bulk order.

S Sneha 1 month ago
I had that issue once, turned out I was buying a 'Pro Elite' Gi and the code was only for standard ones. Maybe check the product description?

R RohitK 1 month ago
Good point, I'm buying some Pro Elite shin guards. Didn't think of that.

Following, I'm trying to get a discount for my club's uniform order too.

P Priya 1 month ago
Are you trying to use it on items already on sale? Sometimes codes don't stack with clearance or student starter kit deals.
12
R RohitK 1 month ago
Yeah, it's for some boxing gloves that were already discounted a bit. That might be it then.

Could also be minimum spend. Did you check the T&Cs for the code?

Just ordered a new BJJ Gi from Playwell. Anyone know about their sizing?

L LiamDavies 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Their size charts are usually pretty accurate. I got an A2 and it fit great after one wash.

Yeah, their charts are reliable.

I always size up one, found their gis a bit snug for me especially after drying.

Yeah, I had to return one once because it was too small.

Thinking of buying a Wing Chun Wooden Dummy from Playwell. Anyone have experience with theirs?

M Meera 3 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
My Sifu got one from them a few years back. Still holds up well. Made of actual wood, not some cheap laminate.

K Karan 3 weeks ago
That's good to know, quality is important for something like this.
6
S Samir 3 weeks ago
Are Playwell wooden weapons made of real oak generally? Or just some?
3
L Leo 3 weeks ago
Not sure about the dummy, but I got a Red Oak Jo Staff from them and it's fantastic.
7
V Vikram 3 weeks ago
I've heard they're pretty solid. Are you getting the wall-mounted or freestanding one?
5
K Karan 3 weeks ago
Looking at the freestanding. Don't really have space for wall-mounted.

What's the difference between Playwell Pro Elite and standard Gi? Is it worth the extra cost?

M Maya 1 week ago ✓ Best Answer
Pro Elite usually means heavier fabric, better stitching, and often a more tailored cut. It's more durable for serious training and comps.
17
M Maya 1 week ago
For casual, a standard Gi is perfectly fine. Pro Elite is overkill unless you're really putting it through its paces.
3
A Arjun 1 week ago
So better for competition, then? I mostly train casually.
1
S Sid 1 week ago
Mine was a standard, held up for ages.
2
K Kiran 1 week ago
I found the standard Gi perfectly adequate for my Taekwondo. The Pro Elite felt a bit stiff for my liking.
2
A Arjun 1 week ago
Good to know. I'm looking at a Judo Gi.

Hey, wondering how long it usually takes for orders to arrive in the US? Like, if I ordered a gi to California, would it take ages?

S Sarah Lindqvist 1 month ago
Yeah, since Playwell is in the UK, it's not super fast. I think my last order took about 2 weeks to get to me in Texas.
3
G Gwen 1 month ago
Mine was faster, like 10 days, but it was just a few belts. Depends on what you get I guess.
